Product information

All of our teas are organically grown, because we trade with small growers the cost of certification for each individual batch of tea is prohibitive. Where we can’t provide organic certification for a specific tea we can assure you that each plantation is a certified organic farm.

We believe Direct Trade works better for the tea industry in Sri Lanka where we source our teas. Historically tea plantations are owned by an individual or family or even a large company who then employ local workers to pick and process the tea. The Fair Trade model ensures the plantation owner receives the Fair Trade premium meaning it’s then up to the owner to do the right thing and pass it onto the workers.

With Direct Trade we have a connection to each plantation we buy tea from, we learn about the unique needs of their staff and their communities and we learn about the systems they have in place to provide meaningful change, such as at Amba Estate where the team are paid above the required wage & are also part of a revenue share which is paid whether a profit is made or not.

Yes! Our cellulose packs housing our loose leaves are backyard and commercially compostable! They are derived from plant.

Picker's Pocket sources our teas directly from single estates. Our farmers are small - scale growers doing amazing things for the planet & the tea communities in Sri Lanka. All of our teas are from certified organic plantations.

The majority of the organic fertilisers used come from the rescue cows on each plantation. The cows are residents on the plantations, each has a name & only one job to do... Poo!

In the case of our wild teas, there is no need for fertilisers, the trees get everything they need from the natural processes in the forest itself.

We have committed to using either recyclable or compostable packaging for 100% of our products.

Our tea boxes are created from FSC certified stock & printed with vegetable inks.

Plastic waste is an issue that touches us all, and something we are ALL responsible for. Picker's Pocket remains committed to sustainability in every aspect of our production & and is working hard to develop sustainable packaging alternatives to protect our planet.

Nutritional information

Our natural flavours are made from 100% plant, including bark, buds, roots or leaves. These ingredients contain no regulated allergens, GMOs, or artificial flavours.

Our spices & flowers are whole pieces & not made into a powdered form.

Tea, especially black tea contains a small quantity of caffeine. Our white teas contain the least amount of caffeine, followed by green tea.

Our herbal teas are all caffeine free!

We estimate our Black Teas contain between 40 and 90mg of caffeine per serving (1 cup). As a comparison, drip coffee contains between 140 and 190mg of caffeine per serving (1 cup).

Mama D's is the black tea with the highest level of caffeine while our Wild Forest has the least.

We estimate our Green Teas contain 20 - 45mg of caffeine per cup.

Our larger leaf teas contain less caffeine as there is less surface area exposed to the infusion process.

We currently don’t process our teas to remove caffeine as this would affect the quality of our product.

Online Orders

We ship internationally with special rates throughout New Zealand & Australia.

Once your order has been processed and your credit card has been charged, we are unable to make any changes. Please make sure to double check your shipping address and cart contents before confirming your purchase!

All food items are non-returnable, but if an item arrives damaged or defective, you may request a refund or replacement within 10 days of delivery. Note that we may require images for documentation purposes and to analyze future processes for shipping during summer months.

We ship our orders Monday – Fridays, excluding major holidays. Most orders ship within one - two business days. We are currently experiencing high order volumes and orders may take additional time to process. We will notify you with a tracking number when it has shipped, and packages typically arrive within two-days of shipment.

Please contact us at hello@pickerspocket.comor by replying to your delivery confirmation email. Our customer support team will be more than happy to assist you with this inconvenience. Please note that in order to investigate the issue fully, the tracking information must indicate that the shipment was delivered within the past 10 days. If you follow-up more than 10 days after scheduled delivery, we may be unable to resolve your claim.
