What if the tea leaves could also be the bag? 

Our natural tea rods are one of the most unique hand-crafted tea 'bags' in the world.

Each rod contains 16 sets of two of the finest tea leaves and buds, with the leaves and buds each bringing a different element of flavour to your tea.

We are big believers that tea should never be brewed in single-use tea bags.

Most tea bags contain up to 25% plastic not to mention the plastic wrap used for packaging. So, as we love to say, let’s #FreeTheLeaves!

Each Tea Rod can be brewed hot or cold, brewing  1 litre of fresh black tea in 3-4 infusions.

Wow

How has this not been created before now? I don't think it's a tea you would really add milk to. I let the flavours of the leaves speak for themselves. These rods are a fabulous take on the old tea bag.

Goodbye Tea Bags

Goodbye tea bags, it's loose leaf tea only from now on. Unless of course it's a natural tea bag, so intricate and beautiful. Tea is now a ritual in my everyday, the story of Picker's Pocket makes me really appreciate every sip.

A new fav

I was hesitant ordering just a straight-up black tea, but the flavour is amazing. Not to mention - no plastic. I was able to re-use the same tea bag a few times. I have recommended this to friends to take camping and on overnight hikes as a single-use tea bag alternative. Love it!

Yes! Tea is known to be packed with antioxidants to boost your immune system, fight off inflammation, and even ward off cancer and heart disease. Regularly drinking tea can have a lasting impact on your wellness. 

Flavours vary from region to region, as does the caffeine content. The climate, soil, and rainfall all effect the caffeine levels in tea as it is a natural product harvested from the camellia sinensis plant. The level of caffeine in our loose leaf teas vary. Herbal tisanes such as our Pure Peppermint and Blue Lemongrass are caffeine free.

Fully fermented black tea leaves which are the basis of all breakfast teas contain the highest amount of caffeine. Green tea has less caffeine, followed by white tea which contains a minimal amount of caffeine. While you will get a caffeine hit from your pot of tea, it is significantly less than you would from coffee.

Artisinal loose leaf teas are created in smaller batches and hand-picked from single estates. We know exactly where all our tea is grown, and who grows it. We want to be sure that each bag of tea we sell is doing good for the local community where our favourite tea plantations are.
